My Approach

My therapeutic style is warm and relational, taking the whole person into account and inviting change through developing awareness of your self in its entirety. My task is to journey beside you rather than direct you where to go, and my hope is that my curious and supportive presence will help you to move forward with a life that feels rich and fulfilling.

Whilst I have developed an integrative therapeutic style tailored to the client, my core training is in Gestalt therapy. Gestalt is a humanistic talking therapy, from the same family as other talking therapies such as Person-Centred. Gestalt is 'here and now' focused, and loosely translates as 'whole', meaning that our work together will be holistic, taking into account mind, body, emotions and spirit.

Talking is a big part of what we will do together, but building awareness of the whole body and what we are experiencing 'here and now' is invaluable in helping us to see the whole picture — in practice, this might look like experimenting with movement; creativity such as art, music, or anything else you might be drawn to; or simply enquiring something such as "what are you aware of in your body as you say that?" or "what happens to your breathing as we talk about this?" (questions to which you may often not know the answer - and that is okay!)

Many of my clients come to me having had previous therapy which didn't feel like a great fit, or where it felt like some pieces of the puzzle were missing, and find that they are able to gain greater insight with a talking therapy that invites exploration of their whole self.

Whether you are looking for shorter term therapy to help with a particular issue, longer term for more in depth exploration, or you aren’t sure, the first step is to get in touch. I offer a free 15-minute phone call to get an idea of whether we are a good fit to work together, followed by an initial 50-minute consultation, where we can discuss what brings you to therapy and what you are hoping to achieve. You are under no obligation or pressure to continue after this session, but if you would like to, and we agree that we are a good match, subsequent sessions are 50 minutes weekly and are held face to face in either Jordans, Beaconsfield, or Prestwood, Great Missenden, or online.

All 50 minute sessions including the initial consultation are charged at £70 (reduced cost spaces may be available).

In addition, I offer longer sessions of either 75 minutes (charged at £100) or 90 minutes (charged at £120). Couples sessions are also either 75 minutes (charged at £100) or 90 minutes (charged at £120).
